With health and safety guidelines continuing to limit large group gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic, Bridgewater State University has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Homecoming weekend, scheduled for later this month. But don't worry, we have already set the date for 2021 – so mark your calendars for your return to BSU for Saturday, October 23, 2021!

Ellen Cuttle Oliver, ’82, G’89, Interim Chief Development Officer, Office of Alumni & Development,
shares, "The health and safety of Bridgewater State students, family members and alumni is always our top priority. For all of us, this was a heart wrenching decision, but for our Bridgewater family, it is the right one."

After careful consideration and collaboration with Bridgewater State University leadership, student affairs and athletics, among others, as well as always adhering to state guidelines, cancelling all in-person events was the correct thing to do.

“We understand that the yearly return to campus is a highlight for many BSU alumni,” Cuttle Oliver continues. “While we understand this decision will disappoint many Bears, we want to ensure Homecoming, as well as any possible upcoming in-person event, can be enjoyed in a safe manner.”

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, October 23, 2021!

Breakfast at Tilly, The Rat Tent, Reunions and much more will be back...bigger, better and totally Bear-worthy.

Cuttle Oliver is already excited for next year. Working with the alumni & development team and numerous volunteers, she oversees the coordination and execution of the myriad activities planned for the multi-day event. She quips, "Last year was magical; 2021 will be epic!"
